Actions
Say what you want done. It uses your Mac’s own Reminders, Calendar, browser and Shortcuts. One click undoes it.
Try saying
- “Remind me at 5 to call Sam.”
- A reminder in your Mac’s Reminders, due at 5 pm. Undo appears for a few seconds.
- “Add lunch with Ana on Friday at 1.”
- An event in your Calendar on Friday at 1 pm, in your default calendar.
- “Remind me tomorrow at 9 to send the invoice.”
- Dates like “tomorrow”, “Friday” and “at 9” are read in your local time.
- “Open Figma.”
- Opens the app.
- “Open nytimes.com.”
- Opens the site in your default browser.
- “Search for flights to Lisbon in March.”
- Opens the search in your browser, so you see the results yourself.
- “Run my standup shortcut.”
- Runs the Shortcut you made with that name in the Shortcuts app.
- “Open Linear and file a ticket for the login bug.”
- Not yet. It tells you computer use is coming soon and does nothing.
What it can do
- Reminders
- Added to your Mac’s Reminders, with a due time if you give one.
- Calendar events
- Added to your default calendar. Relative dates are read in your local time.
- Apps
- Opened by name.
- Links
- Opened in your default browser.
- Browser searches
- Opened in your browser, so you see the results yourself.
- Your Shortcuts
- Run by name from the Shortcuts app.
The first time, macOS asks to let Ambient use Calendars and Reminders. Nothing else to set up.
Undo
After a reminder or event, the card shows Undo for a few seconds. Click it and the item is deleted.
What it won’t do yet
Acting inside other apps, like filing a ticket in Linear, is computer use. It’s coming soon. Until then, Ambient says so and does nothing.
