Recall

Ask about something you said, read or saved. It looks where your things already are.

Try saying

“What did I say about pricing yesterday?”
Answers from your dictation history, with when you said it.
“What was that number on the page I just closed?”
Looks in the last two minutes of what was on screen, kept in memory only.
“What did Priya say about the launch date?”
Looks in your meeting notes and transcripts.
“Find the Q3 deck.”
Finds matching files through Spotlight, plus a one-click Drive search in your browser.
“Find the email from Sam about the contract.”
Mail messages through Spotlight, plus a one-click Gmail search.
“Where did I see the Acme invoice number?”
Searches the text of the windows you have open, in every app.
“What was that article about battery recycling I read last week?”
Looks in screen memory, if you’ve turned it on.

Where it looks

Your dictations
Everything you’ve said to it, kept on your computer.
Your meetings
Notes and transcripts from calls you noted.
Open windows
The text of every window you have open, read when you ask.
The last two minutes
What was on screen a moment ago. In memory only, never saved.
Screen memory
What you’ve seen, saved as text and encrypted on your Mac. Kept 7 days by default.
Spotlight
Your files, Mail messages and notes, through the Mac’s own index.
Drive and Gmail
One-click searches in the browser you’re already signed in to.

Turn it on

Your dictations work straight away. For open windows and the last two minutes, turn on Read what you ask about. For screen memory, turn on Remember what you’ve seen. Both are in Ambient → Privacy.

Screen memory never leaves your Mac. Delete it any time. Privacy controls
